Here is a live action / vfx integration commercial storyboard I did last minute for a client. About 8 hrs over a couple days. Live action always asks for different things in their boards than in animation, less posing, but it was a fun idea so I made it a bit animation-ey. The designs (phallic sea monster) were done by some one else. I didn't post the dialogue either, but basically, when the coloured bugs land on the characters, they get to grant a wish. Just like real life. Good times!!

2008 Stop Motion Short made in 50 hrs?
Oh my gyad, forgot about this. This was done with my friends for the Trick 17 Stop Motion competition in 2008!! Me and my team got 50 hrs, a direction, music and a medium to make a stop motion film. Looking back this was a great learning experience. Please forgive the lame (AWESOME!!) sense of humor in it. It was sponsored by Redbull, (obviously). Oh good times.

Here is a short "thing" I made in my spare time last July (2011). It was made at Quickdraw Animation Society in Calgary. Hand drawn in Flash, a friend of mine was kind enough to throw some music on, thanks Matt!

UBC EOS Illustrations
Last November, I did some preliminary exploration for a really cool professor in the Earth and Ocean Sciences Program at UBC. They didn't turn into anything after this but it was a fun little gig and I got to learn a lot about geological processes and ecology theory which was totally rad!!!

Here's a 30sec spot I did at Barbershop Films here in Vancouver. It was hand drawn in Flash by myself and the compositing wizard took it from there. Good times!

BBC Kids_Story Boards
Busy times. Here are some story boards I did back in April(?) for Motionsoup Studio here in Vancouver http://www.motionsoup.com/.
There were two spots for BBC Kids done in a sketch book cut-out, motion graphic style. The deadline was tight and I didn't get to pose much out for the animators, so the boards were really rough and vauge. Fun times brainstorming.
You can view the finished pieces here:

November!
Using my other hand..........

Here is a drawing I did with my left hand. I highly recommend drawing with your "bad" hand, it's great for thinking differently about whatever you're doing. I'm not sure how to feel about the fact that it's not a bad drawing either. The right hand might be a bit jealous. A co worker insisted it looked like OJ Simpson, so I added some gloves. I think it looks a bit like Glen Keane. Go right brain Go! Ramble Ramble Ramble.
